Nisa River Canoeing + Return on Scooters

The canoe and the necessary equipment will be available at the Nisa Rental, which located in the Kristýna recreational area in Hrádek nad Nisou. Then he just jumps into the boat and drifts downstream to Hirschfelde or Marienthal.

From Kristýna to Hirschfelde by boat and back on scooters:

The 11km route is suitable for rafting beginners and families with children. During the 3-hour trip, he will paddle through the tripoint where the Czech Republic meets Poland and Germany. For the rest of the trip on the Nisa River, he will feel like a pirate, as he will paddle through the natural border of two countries which feels like no-man's land.

As he approaches the weir, it's time to swap the canoes for scooters. He will ride back to Hrádek along the Odra-Nisa cycle path, where he will get to see the landscape from a different angle. At this point, he has 15 kilometers ahead of him. He definitely deserves a rest. He can make a top in one of Zittau's pubs or visit the Mini Zoo – Tierpark Zittau, where he can visit the enclosure of some of the animals.

From Kristýna to Marienthal and back by train:

The 22km route will be exciting even for the more experienced paddler who doesn't mind spending a few hours on the water. The trip takes about 4 to 5 hours. He will see the tripoint where the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany meet, and sail through no-man's land on the natural border of two countries. In Hirschfeld, he will cross a weir and sail through a picturesque valley with no noise of the city.

The trip ends at the beautiful Marienthal Monastery, and it would be a shame not to peek inside, at least have a break at the famous monastery pub. He can get back to Hrádek nad Nisou by train with a transfer in Žitava, or you can rent a scooter and ride the 22 kilometers.
