Is it whisky or whiskey?

Do you know the difference between whisky and whiskey? It's not just grammar and an extra letter. The place of production, the process, and the composition, as well as the final taste, all play a role. Whisky is the national drink of Scotland, and there are three basic types. Malt whisky, which is made from barley only, grain whisky, which is made from grains such as wheat or corn, and blended whisky.

In contrast, the Irish variant is triple-distilled and called whiskey. Compared to Scotch, it doesn't taste as smoky and is left to mature for at least 3 years. Another type of whiskey is bourbon, which is produced mainly in the USA, and it contains at least 51% corn.
