Following the huge success of the Hummer H1, General Motors decided to produce a new model with more driving comfort and lower fuel consumption. The new type of car was launched in 2002 and immediately became one of the most popular cars. Although the Hummer H2 gained many... Continue
customers, it was criticized for having worse off-road capability than its predecessor. Not surprisingly ... the Hummer H2 is lighter, more comfortable, just overall more civil. That doesn't change the fact that it remains an above-average off-roader.
Features
The Hummer H2 is built on a Chevrolet Tahoe chassis. It is powered by a 242 kW 6.0 L V8 engine and has an automatic transmission. In 2008, the 6.0-litre engine was replaced by a 293 kW 6.2-litre V8 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission was also added.
End of Production
The end of production of this vehicle came relatively soon. Due to the economic crisis and the rising price of fuel in the US, interest in the Hummer began to decline rapidly. In 2009, sales of the Hummer H2 in the US market dropped by more than 95% compared to 2005. This led to a halt in production of new vehicles in 2010.
