A day full of experiences on the Kořenov rack railway

The day begins at Kořenov railway station, from where you’ll set off on a journey along the legendary Zubačka – the only rack-and-pinion railway in the Czech Republic. You’ll enjoy a ride on a historic train along one of the most fascinating mountain railways in Central Europe, whilst savouring the unique atmosphere of historic travel. The programme also includes a guided tour of the Kořenov Locomotive Shed, a visit to the Rack Railway Museum and the ‘Rack Railways of the World’ exhibition. You’ll then take a ride on a mine train and a historic 1984 Karosa coach to Příchovice and back. You’ll round off the full-day programme with a visit to the Štěpánka Lookout Tower, offering stunning views of the Jizera Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains. The programme runs from approximately 10:00 to 16:45.

How long does the programme last?
Approximately 7 hours, from 10:00 to 16:45.

Which train will we be travelling on?
Depending on the specific date, a historic diesel train, a steam train or a historic rack-and-pinion train may be used.

Is this experience suitable for children?
Yes, the programme is suitable for children aged 6 and over.

Where does the programme start?
We meet at Kořenov railway station.

What if the weather is extremely bad?
In the event of a technical emergency or extremely bad weather, an alternative date will be arranged in consultation with the organiser.
