A hot air balloon ride has long been one of the most popular experiences. It's no wonder - soaring silently over the landscape, watching the sunrise from above and having the world in the palm of your hand is one of those special moments you never forget. Whether you're choosing a flight for yourself or as a gift, you're likely to come across the question: How big a balloon to choose?
The difference between a small, medium and large balloon is not only the number of passengers, but also the overall comfort, view and atmosphere during the flight. Here is an overview to help you get your bearings.
Small balloon (4-6 persons + pilot)
Small Balloon offers an intimate atmosphere and the greatest comfort. A basket without dividers (or with only one) gives each passenger direct access to the edge and an unobstructed view. With low occupancy, the flight is not restricted by the weight of the fuel, so you can enjoy a full experience even in the summer months.
Benefits:
-
High comfort and space for everyone
-
Direct contact with the pilot and a more personal atmosphere
-
Excellent view from every position
Disadvantages:
-
Higher ticket price
Medium balloon (up to 12 persons + pilot)

Golden Midway. The basket is usually divided into three cubicles, each cubicle holds a maximum of 6 people. The pilot has his own separate compartment, usually on the edge of the basket. The view may already be slightly limited in a fully occupied balloon, so many operators recommend a slightly lower occupancy (e.g. 10 people + pilot) for greater comfort.
Benefits:
-
Good compromise between comfort and price
-
Still fairly quiet atmosphere
Disadvantages:
