Imagine a two-month course is like reading through the entirety of Shakespeare and paying close attention to every line. A weekend course is more like reading through information about the work and the most famous passages. Even a short course can do wonders - it can raise your self-esteem, teach you how to work with your breath, breathe properly, intone and control your body language. The long acting course in Prague, however, will go in depth, it's 8 evenings and during each of them you will learn something different. The course also includes the opportunity to attend rehearsals of real actors and soak up their professionalism. At the end of the course all successful participants will receive a certificate and the opportunity to get a role in one of the productions at the Procity Theatre in Prague.

The content of the acting course program depends on whether you choose the weekend seminar or the two-month acting course. Both have their unique qualities.
Weekend Acting Course
During the 14 hours of instruction in the weekend course, all participants will go through basic acting exercises. The focus will also be on vocal expression, overcoming stage fright, and improvisation. Participants will experience fundamental vocal training, eliminate habits in their previous vocal expression, and learn how to breathe correctly to use their voice as efficiently as possible. The weekend acting course is like a taste of this beautiful art form. It will push the physical boundaries of all participants and creatively develop their personalities. Perhaps, it will inspire budding actors so much that they will decide to take the two-month course.
Two-Month Acting Course
The two-month acting course is designed for those who are serious about acting, aim to audition for roles, dream of becoming a theater actor, or want to develop their abilities and potential. The course is divided into 8 evenings. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate that allows them to register as actors with a minimum acting qualification. Successfully completing the course also creates the opportunity to perform in a real production at Procity Theater.
What will you learn in the acting course?
- correct breathing—as a result of various breathing exercises
- correct verbal expression (you will learn to control your voice, its intensity, color, and tone), working with text
- perfect control of body language—gesticulation, mimics, pantomime
- working with energy and stage presence, you will acquire a so-called natural acting expression
- working with a role (for the final work in the form of a short production)
- improvisation
- finding your acting intuition
- you will boost your confidence and relieve any tension in public speaking, which you will use in almost every aspect of your life.
