You can even taste it unfiltered and unpasteurised when it is poured from oak lager barrels just for you. Only the brewers usually have that privilege! The city of Pilsen has many stories to tell, and the one about beer has been around for centuries. And it's definitely worth listening to. In addition, during your tour of the brewery you will also visit the historic brewhouse or the historic cellars, where Pilsner Urquell is still brewed today using the traditional method as in the days of the first brewer Josef Groll. There is definitely something to see.

The tour of the brewery starts in a unique cinerama, to which he will descend in the largest passenger lift in the Czech Republic. During an introductory movie, he'll learn all about the unique ingredients that are essential to beer brewing. And then he's off to the brewhouse. He'll get to see the historic brewhouse machine that was used to brew the first batch of Pilsner lager, and also a historic brewhouse from the early 20th century.
From the past, he'll move to the present day and see modern technologies that make this process easier without changing it. In the next exhibition, he'll be introduced to the brewers and others who helped the Pilsner lager to acquire its legendary status. Next, in the brewery cellars, he can check out the tanks and how beer is here made using the traditional methods as in the time of the first brewer. And to take it all in, he'll wash it all down with an unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell lager straight out of an oak barrel. He most certainly won't find that in a supermarket.
As is common, it's cold in the cellars, so he should pack with him some warmer clothes to make sure he's comfy. The temperature there is around 5 °C.
The beer tasting is included in the tour for all gourmets over 18 years of age.
