Dark stay starts with arrival any time after 11:00. After the third night, the marquee opens at 7:30 and you have another hour to get used to the light and go home.
The caravan is spacious enough (8×3 m) and you will find everything you need in it - shower with hot water, sink, toilet, comfortable bed and armchair. There will also be a meditation seat and a yoga mat in the room.
For those who would like to stay in absolute silence, earplugs will also be provided. The air is always fresh thanks to the air recuperation system. Temperature can then be adjusted to keep you comfortable, whether you're comfortable in 20°C or want a proper warmth.
What about food and drink?
There's a choice of varied raw, vegan and vegetarian diets, which you can change to taste or combine with fasting during your stay. The type of preferred diet must be arranged with the operator at least 3 days before arrival. You will be given 4-5 bowls of food once a day at irregular times, which helps to lose track of time and deepen contact with yourself.
To drink is the local water from a 47m borehole, which is regularly tested and contains lots of minerals. You will also be provided with tea in a thermos made from herbs collected on the property, or a bespoke herbal tea.
No food is wasted. What you don't eat, the animals get to eat.
What to bring?
Pack comfortable clothes, a towel, toothbrush and toothpaste. Also, don't forget a blanket or sleeping bag. A musical instrument or talisman is also a good idea. If you would like to draw or write, don't forget pencils and papers. If you can't make it without various treats, pack a supply of goodies to take with you, there will be no treats on site.
What doesn't belong here?
No cigarettes, alcohol or drugs are allowed in the marquee. Do not bring chemical showers or shampoos.
What to do before you leave?
A lighted phone or tablet does not belong in the dark. So leave your electronics off and set an auto-response to your email, and speak a message on your answering machine to let them know when you'll be available again. Don't worry about not finding out if something important happens - let your loved ones and work know where you're going. If necessary, they can contact the operator who will arrange everything for you.
After your stay, it's a good idea to allow yourself one more day off to acclimatise and get back to reality.
