The actual flight time is around 1 hour. However, you should set aside about 3-4 hours for the whole experience, because besides the flight itself, you will have the whole adventure from the preparations for the flight to the baptism by the four elements. But first things first.
Before the flight you will receive a text message from the pilot with summary information about the winter balloon flight. Then you'll be transported to your departure point, show your ticket and the adventure begins. With the pilot's permission, you can participate in the pre-flight preparations if you would like to lend a hand.
Once the balloon is ready, you'll hop in the basket and enjoy the view of the wintry cityscape. During the scenic flight, you'll move at the speed and direction of the wind - so the exact route and landing spot are always a bit of a surprise.
But the experience doesn't end with the landing either - once you hit the ground, you'll have a ceremonial baptism through the four elements, making first-timers rightful members of the aerobatic family. After that, you can say goodbye and head back to the rendezvous point - where you will be taken by the ground crew.
What to wear and take with you?
The temperature in the balloon is not significantly lower than on the ground, and you will be warmed by the hot air from the burner. Still, you won't get hot by moving around, so warm clothing is recommended, including gloves and a hat. Don't forget sturdy, insulated footwear.
What if the weather is not good?
The balloon flight will only take place in good weather conditions. In case of bad weather, the pilot will inform you in time and offer you a new flight date.
What about escorts?
You can take an escort to support you and take some great photos. Your escort can follow the balloon from the launch site and arrive at the landing site. However, movement in the launch area should be consulted with the crew to avoid disrupting the experience.
