The hike to Svišťový štít is moderately physically demanding and does not involve any particularly challenging technical sections. The entire ascent takes 8 to 10 hours, and you can even take older children with you who have some hiking experience. Together, you’ll climb 1,100 metres in altitude.
You will meet your UIMLA guide in Starý Smokovec or at Hrebienok (1,285 m). You will then follow the route: Starolesnianska poľana – Velká Studená dolina – Veverkov waterfall – ‘Ohnisko’ – “Brána” – Vareškové pleso – Dlhé pleso – Zbojnícka chata – Prielom Saddle – Divá kotlina – Svišťový štít (2,382 m).
At the summit, you’ll enjoy your well-deserved views before returning along the same route back to Hrebienok.
