The ascent of Gerlachovský štít by the classic route is an unforgettable experience of a lifetime. The route starts at the Silesian House from where it continues through the Velická valley below Velická próba. Here you put on your complete equipment and tie yourself to the rope. After crossing the proba you will continue through the couloirs to Sedielko na Kotlém and traverse the Gerlachovské Kotle to the crevasse below Kotlém. From
here you will see the summit of Gerlach for the first time. You'll traverse the Window, Listening Trough and then a short ridge straight to the summit. You descend via the Batizovsky chute past the Batizovsky lake and along the main road to the Silesian House. The hike reaches an altitude of 1000 m and takes 7 to 9 hours. You will do everything with an experienced mountain guide who will take care of your safety.
