Via Ferrata Course at Skalka near Kremnica

On arrival at Ferratový svet na Skalke pri Kremnici, you will be welcomed by a certified climbing instructor. They will show you how to use your via ferrata equipment correctly, explain how to climb safely, highlight the key safety principles and help you choose routes suited to your ability.

The exact programme then depends on the level you choose:

NORMAL – grades A to C

The NORMAL option is designed primarily for beginners. You will tackle via ferrata routes graded A–C, from easy to more challenging climbs. Under the guidance of your instructor, you will learn the essential skills and put them straight into practice on the route.

EXTREME – grades C to E

Already have via ferrata experience and looking for a real challenge? The EXTREME option takes you onto routes graded C–E, from demanding to extremely difficult. It is intended for experienced climbers who already know what via ferrata climbing involves.

Is the via ferrata course suitable for beginners?
Yes. The NORMAL level is designed for beginners and covers via ferrata routes graded A–C.

What is the difference between the NORMAL and EXTREME options?
NORMAL follows via ferrata routes graded A–C and is suitable for beginners. EXTREME includes demanding to extremely difficult C–E routes and is intended for experienced climbers.

Do I need my own via ferrata equipment?
No. All necessary via ferrata equipment, including a helmet, can be hired on site. Please bring sportswear, sturdy footwear and a lightweight waterproof jacket.

How long does the via ferrata course last?
The NORMAL option lasts 3–4 hours, while the EXTREME option lasts 3–5 hours.

Will I receive photos from the experience?
Yes. You will receive digital photos from the course within a few days after the experience.
