Weekend Cruise on a Sailboat

„We were well taken care of, only mooring the sailboat was difficult because there were many boats and relatively little space. It is much easier in Frymburk.“

As for the boat, standard, but for the uninitiated count on the fact that the 4 person boats are basically such lo little better "tents" on the water. „Thank you very much for a great experience! :-) I appreciate very much the great communication - change of date due to bad weather, due to complicated traffic later arrival from our side - no problem, when weather conditions worsened sending SMS to the sailing boat - really sensational. The experience itself was also great - sunbathing, swimming, sailing - a blast! The equipment on the boat was absolutely sufficient, the handover of the boat was also fine, the facilities on land were great. The only minor thing that could be worked on is a little better training in the engine control of the boat - rather than telling stories about who ever went the wrong way or knocked the boat - I would wonder why that happens... How about driving out of the harbour with each crew and then parking back again (15-30 minutes is enough), I think a lot of "funny" stories could be avoided with that. I can understand that someone who is on a sailboat today and every day would find the controls a trivial thing, but from a layman's position, it's not so easy at first...and it really only comes down to a few times before you have it in your hands. Definitely not a criticism, more just an observation of positive benefit to both parties. ;-) Lastly, I would like to say that my husband and I were on the fence about getting our VMP license and the weekend on the sailboat convinced us that we both desperately needed the license :-D , it's a truly unique experience and we highly recommend it to everyone!“

The only thing no one could control was the wind, it was not blowing much, so next time we will choose an autumn date. Only the cabin to accommodate 4 adults is a bit cramped. „Good day, I was apprehensive about the experience, I have never driven a boat or sailboat by myself, but after responsible watching the demonstration videos they send you and with the basics from other wind sports, the sail and motor control was clear and we managed everything without error. You really need to start out and return to the Marina slowly on the smallest engine speed and have a precise idea of where and when you will turn the rudder beforehand, as the boat responds with a slight delay. You have all the materials on the boat as well, but you should still know before you set sail. There is only limited space, so for sleeping 4 people there is then no room for bags or backpacks, so ideally take only the essentials given the forecast and rather just plenty of liquids or snacks and leave everything else with Marina in the car when you return. Anchoring in other marinas is quite complicated.“

„Everything went as announced for the experience. We really enjoyed the weekend, even though it was our first time driving a sailboat. What I don't recommend is going as a foursome. There is room in the hold for three people at most. The photos featured on the internet are taken at a handy angle :-)“
