Even though you will be a zoo keeper for only a day, the hustle and bustle in Zoo Tábor never ends. To keep you company, there will be an experienced keeper who will tell you about the biology, behavioral patters, and character traits of all animals you will tend to. And of course, if you have any questions, they are happy to give you the answers.
But how will the whole zoo keeper for a day experience even work? That's simple, after a morning welcome and a short briefing on how things work at the zoo, it's time to get down to business. A truly large number of animals needs to have their food prepared, have it served at a given time, and be checked up on to see whether they're all eating what they are supposed to. Some animals are fed right in the enclosure, while some are fed only from a private back area, i.e., carnivora, as you naturally cannot enter their cage.
Then there's the cleaning of enclosures and a whole lot of talking about individual species and specific animals. You will learn a lot of interesting information and have a great time with the animals. You will have special access to private areas you wouldn't have a chance to visit otherwise and start viewing the zoo differently.
If you'd like, you can bring up to 4 friends with you, and if your friend would rather prefer just observing the whole thing, they can buy a regular ticket and watch you from a visitor's point of view.
You will also get a book signed by the zoo director as a bonus, so that you will never forget this experience.
What you should know:
As part of your job as a zoo keeper, you will get to see our large carnivora. However, feeding them requires following a specific set of rules, so please note the following exceptions before you book the experience:
- Every Monday, our wolves, lynx, lions, and tigers are fasting. Therefore, you will only be able to feed our black bear and brown bears on this day. But don't worry, there's still plenty of work that you'll need to do for the other large carnivora.
- From May 15 to September 15, as part of feeding large carnivora, you will be able to feed our black bear, brown bears, and Siberian tiger. The other large carnivora are not being fed until late in the afternoon due to high temperatures. But, much like in the previous rule, you will have more than enough work on your hands with the other large carnivora :)

Hello, I would like to ask, you write that the voucher is valid for 12 months and cannot be extended. Is it possible to count on a free date within 12 months. I know that this kind of experience is very popular in zoos around the country and that dates are hard to catch. I read in the description of the experience that the dates are from May to probably October, so buying a voucher in December for example will already have 5 months off in May?
