The amazing Súlov limestone for experienced climbers
Around the picturesque village of Súlov, not far from Žilina, there are a huge number of rock formations made of limestone, which are great to climb and surprisingly easy to climb. Nature has created interesting shapes such as mushrooms, needles or towers. This is a protected area, because it is a beautiful undisturbed nature. However, there are also various restrictions during the year for this reason, a updated list of which can be found on the internet. Climbing is allowed all year round on the Table, the School Tower and the Tower above the fireplace.
The rocks are divided into 4 areas - Maple, Under the Castle, Chin and Black, with the first two being the most popular. There are several hundred paths ranging from 10 to 40 metres in length, and small sharp holds and steps, holes and crevasses predominate.
