What is a balloon flight
Ballooning is very simple in principle. The balloon is filled with hot air, which is lighter than the air outside, causing the balloon to rise. The basket of the balloon offers space for passengers and the pilot, who controls the burner. This creates a flame that heats the air inside the balloon and allows it to rise or fall. Although the pilot cannot control the direction of the balloon's flight (this is determined by the wind), he can use the height of the flight to find wind currents that will guide him to the desired direction.
How a balloon flight works
The first step is to meet at the launch site. This usually takes place very early in the morning or late afternoon when the airflow is most stable. Preparing the balloon for flight is actually part of the whole experience. You can watch as the huge balloon fills with air and slowly rises to an upright position.
Once the balloon is ready, you step into the basket and the pilot begins to operate the burner to add more hot air to the balloon. The sensation when the balloon begins to lift off the ground is unique - it is a slight, almost inaudible lift. After the balloon lifts off, you are carried away by the wind, which determines the direction of flight. The flight usually lasts an hour, during which time the wind slowly carries you across the landscape.
During the flight you can expect to fly at different heights, from low altitudes where you can see details of the landscape below you, to heights of several hundred metres where you have a panoramic view of the wide surrounding area. The only sounds will be the sound of the wind, the occasional hum of the burner and perhaps the joyful shouts of other passengers.

How to prepare for a balloon flight
Preparing for a balloon flight starts before you even buy your ticket. You need to decide where and when you want to fly. Once you've bought your ticket, it's a good idea to check the weather forecast - ballooning is affected by weather conditions, so it's important to choose a day with calm weather.
In terms of clothing, we recommend comfortable clothes suitable for the current weather. Although it may seem cooler in the balloon, the air temperature is not too different from the temperature on the ground.
It is also advisable to wear comfortable sturdy shoes as the landing can be a little rough at times. A hat or cap for protection from the sun should definitely not be forgotten. Sunglasses and a camera or camcorder to record those unforgettable moments are also a plus. Keep in mind that there are no toilets in the balloon, so make sure you visit the toilet before you fly.
On the day of the flight, arrive on time at the meeting point. If possible, take the time to watch the balloon being prepared for flight - it's a fascinating process and well worth seeing. When the time comes, obey the pilot's instructions and enjoy your flight!
A few words in conclusion
Ballooning is not only about adventure, but also a touch of romance. It's a chance to see the world from a different perspective and experience something that will stay in your memory forever. So why not step out of your comfort zone and experience something extraordinary?
