Introductory training and our questions
Right after the welcome, the owner of the racetrack takes us through a quick, but thorough, training session. He answers all our questions and explains how to properly control the cars, how the simulated pit stops and overtaking on the track work. It's obvious that he really loves his track and his enthusiasm quickly sweeps us away. We're ready to race!
First run and our enthusiasm
The Etnadrom car track is incredibly long, a full 31 metres and can fit up to 6 cars at a time. The kids are thrilled and so are we adults. And when we finally get to the drivers, the adrenaline starts to rise.
The cars can go up to 50 km/h in a straight line, so it's no wonder we have to get used to the speed and responsiveness of the controls for the first few laps. Incidentally, if cars were real life size, they would go at speeds of up to 1200 km/h. It's clear that we have to turn hard.
The track is full of curves and long straights where we can try to overtake others.
But the main attraction of the whole circuit is the cliff that rises at the top of the track. And as we move into the second half of the experience, the real adventure begins - during the ride, the volcano simulates an eruption. Sound and light effects, along with rising smoke, create an atmosphere like an action movie. The kids are in raptures and so are we adults - we certainly didn't expect something like this on a car track!

An experience full of adrenaline and laughter
During our visit, we didn't have the opportunity to use the lap timing, but the owner revealed that it is possible to purchase this option for a longer racing block of two hours. The first hour is spent riding and familiarising yourself with the course, but by the second hour the time is being timed and you can compare your results in each sector. We will definitely try this option next time, because the idea of competing for the best times is appealing.
The racing is immersive - we all laugh, we encourage each other, and the kids even come up with strategies to beat each other. The atmosphere is great and we get braver and faster with every lap. The volcano that suddenly "erupts" in the middle of our race adds an extra dose of excitement and laughter to the whole experience.
Final impressions and plans for next time
The Etnadrom adventure car track in Kobylisy absolutely blew us away. The kids were grinning from ear to ear and we happily joined in. It was fascinating to see how we improved with every lap. The staff, including the owner, were helpful, friendly and patient throughout - answering our questions and giving us advice that helped us get a better handle on the cars.
Next time we come, we will definitely choose the longer timed option. Competing to see who has the best lap time could spice up our experience and add some healthy rivalry to the game.
