Skiing, snowboarding, sledding, dog sledding, cross-country skiing... you already know all of these like the back of your hand and would you like some new winter thrills? Do you simply need a winter injection of excitement and adrenaline, but somehow lack inspiration? Don't hang your head. I've got some tips for unconventional snow adventures that will get you going! So sit back, let's do it.
Snowkiting or dragon-powered riding
Do you like winter, dragons and riding a board or skis on magical snowy plains? How about getting a bird's eye view of them? God's idea, right? Snowkiting can make it happen!
Snowkiting, or dragon-powered skiing or snowboarding, is sure to thrill you. It will take your winter experience to the next level. Just wait until it's windy, put on your board or skis and the inflatable or chamber kite will take you all day long. You can take classic (downhill skis, carving skis, skialps or bigfoots) skis or board, but the best are freestyle skis and a special snowkiteboard, which has many advantages like a much bigger radius. It's a good idea to take your first ride with an instructor, so you can then ride safely on your own and make the most of the kite's potential.
And then it will look like this
Icebreaking
When it gets really cold, even in our area, several ice walls form. In fact, there is one sport that has no competition. Ice climbing! Crampons, ice axe and up the mountain! Ice climbing is a completely different kind of climbing. You just have to experience it. The first time, though, it's definitely best with an instructor so you don't throw yourself into something that's beyond your abilities. During this climb, you'll get the perfect test of your capabilities and experience a hell of an adrenaline rush. But don't worry, safely of course.
Ice sailing or like Formula 1 on ice
An unreal speed of up to 140 km/h, acceleration of the boat in a fraction of a second and a brutal adrenaline rush, that's sailing on ice. All the positives of sailing on the water are multiplied several times over on the ice, because it is said that a day on a yacht on the ice is like a season on the water. Everything is more intense and better, and the adrenaline rush when you whizz across the ice at tremendous speed is unreal. It's like somehow
Kayak in the snow
Is the combination of kayak and snow unimaginable? Does your kayak rest in your garage all winter? Wrong! Why give up this great sport when you can instead tune it up and enjoy it in the winter? It's great fun, hey
Glacier Trek
Is a glacier trek like any other winter walk? Wrong! Glacier trekking requires special equipment, mastery of specific techniques, and most importantly, safety guidelines.
What will you need? The basics are crampons, ice axe, helmet, harness, rope, carabiner... are you giving up yet? Then add an experienced guide and they'll do it all for you. For example, the New Zealand's Fox Glacier (which is the most beautiful in the world, by the way) is accessible year-round, and you can choose to walk the whole way or be taken up by helicopter. It's an unforgettable experience of a lifetime. Beautiful white-blue reflections, crystal clear water, crunching snow underfoot, rainbows at every corner and a pleasant hike to boot. The ideal brand.
