We enter one of the large buildings, marked with the Pitland logo. The path to the hall itself, when we walk through the huge complex of the former factory, is already a real experience! But don't worry, the path is well signposted and the chances of getting lost are almost minimal.
We can already hear the adrenaline rush just outside the door!
And we are there! We are only one massive door away from a great experience, beyond which we get a glimpse of a huge and incredible space where it's simply alive.
- When we arrive, we are greeted by a great receptionist, who we immediately chat with, because no one is playing games here and everyone is chatting.
- She then leads us up the stairs where we fill out a basic information questionnaire on the computer, take a picture, choose a nickname and rush back downstairs to get our gear!
- He's already got it in his eye, so with one glance at us he immediately estimates our individual helmet, glove, boot and suit sizes, which we rent on site for a fee.
If you are a seasoned biker, you can also bring your own equipment, for which you of course pay nothing on site.
Let's throw on a suit and get into action!

How does it all work in Pitland
?Pitland offers several ride options, there is something for both the complete beginner and the really experienced biker.
For us, 1 hour will be the most suitable, which is a good start for complete beginners or those who want to first experience the operation of the so-called ePits.
Informative window
What is an ePit?
It's an electric pitbike that has a very low center of gravity, due to the motor and battery being housed underneath the bike. It weighs just over 80kg and is great and easy to handle.
The ePit's best friend is the so-called stretcher, which gives the whole machine its juice and which is attached to each rider's arm at all times.

Here we go
I confess that I've never been on a motorcycle as a driver and nervousness has been with me since this morning. After a while, however, we meet our SAM Martin and the fear is gone.
- He explains perfectly how our class will run, what we will learn in it and how security works throughout the space.
- After an initial introduction, we move beyond the track area where we try out cornering, slalom, fast and slow driving, braking and learn lots of tricks. For example, how to keep a cool head in traffic and anticipate the behaviour of others.
- And we're about to take our first trip to the track. Now it's time to show what we've learned so far!
- On the track we'll be completely relaxed, but we must always be alert so as not to endanger ourselves or our fellow bikers. We really enjoy the ride and the whole atmosphere is completely absorbing.
And so it's no wonder that the hour passes like water and we're done here.

Finally: next time in Pitland with you
We bid farewell to Martin, not to miss, of course, a photo together and an exchange of insights and experiences from the saddle of the ePit.

We definitely won't forget this unusual experience and we hope to see you next time in Pitland, because you definitely have to try this out!
